Coaching and mentoring

“The process of learning is not linear, and the capacity to engage with complexity is essential for growth.” - Nora Bateson

Our coaching and mentoring is adapted to your unique needs, as we recognise that one size does not fit all. As a qualified coach and mentor with a network of experienced associate coaches, I provide a safe, confidential space to tackle both immediate and long-term development challenges.

Coaching offers a supportive yet challenging environment to help you uncover solutions and focus on current issues or future goals. Sometimes when we face overwhelm or need to navigate complex changes, mentoring provides some practical guidance through shared experiences, enabling us to unlock our own potential and find greater clarity.

With extensive cross-sector leadership experience, we also integrate leadership models, frameworks, and intentional development to help you build your capability, overcome self-limiting beliefs, and manage your emotions more effectively. Each session is tailored to support your personal and professional growth, development, and success.

Coaching and mentoring can take place in-person, in a place that works for you or outside as a walking conversation if you prefer the great outdoors, where geographically possible. We also coach and mentor online.

“Sarah and I have been working together for just over a year and I can honestly say 'she changed my life'. Going through a significant event during that time, Sarah helped me to confidently navigate a very challenging path with unwavering support and guidance. Not only am I now a stronger, more rounded person, but found an inner resilience and confidence that was there, just needed coaxing out. Something Sarah did brilliantly without me even noticing!

She has allowed me to become a better leader and I hope I can inspire others as she has inspired me.”

Team and leadership development

“The point isn’t to be the hero and solve things; the point of the leader in a complex world is to enable and unleash as many heroes and as many solutions as possible.” - Jennifer Garvey Berger

We collaborate with you, your leadership team, and teams of all sizes across any sector to help you:

  • Build skills, capabilities, and resourcefulness

  • Shift mindsets and overcome self-limiting beliefs

  • Unlock potential and achieve high performance

Our core aim is to create conditions where every team member can contribute their unique strengths authentically. We tailor every session to meet your specific needs, with a focus on co-creation. By understanding your challenges and goals, we design relevant, impactful sessions that enable meaningful change - whether addressing pressing issues or pursuing ambitious objectives.

Great performance stems from strong relationships. Our work centres on strengthening these connections through purposeful conversations, ensuring everyone feels heard and valued. We bring energy, focus, challenge, and sometimes disruption to spark transformative discussions.

Working with teams of two to 100+ members, we partner with a network of skilled consultants bringing a wide range of experience and expertise. If you’d like to explore how we work, we’d be happy to facilitate an initial informal session with your team.

From a practical perspective, we can be alongside you for as much or as little as you need us – a half or one-day workshop, a team or leadership development programme that may take the form of an intensive period of time over consecutive days, or delivered over many months.  We love to be with you in-person, wherever and whenever possible, but recognise the challenges of dispersed locations and hybrid working across the globe so online is great too.

Sarah designed and developed our flagship leadership programme for research staff where she worked collaboratively with us to ensure the content met our needs. We were delighted with the results and evaluating the programme afterwards showed a significant shift in leadership confidence and giving our staff the tools and concepts that they can apply throughout their leadership journeys in the future.”

Organisational development

“Everything we know about high performance comes from relatedness.” - Peter Block

Organisational development consultancy helps organisations improve, adapt to change, and thrive by creating environments where people feel joyful, valued, and fulfilled in their work.

We start by understanding your unique needs and building a trusting, long-term relationship. From there, we collaborate to explore solutions and co-create practical steps forward.

Our approach combines dialogic and integral systems theory. Simply put, dialogic methods foster open conversations and collaboration to generate new ideas and align goals. This drives innovation through meaningful discussions on what matters most - this is where we put our focus.

Integral systems theory takes a holistic view, addressing mindsets, habits, relationships, culture, and processes. This approach helps solve immediate challenges and understand their deeper causes, as well as prioritise where to turn our attention. Whether improving teamwork, leadership, innovation, or managing change, we aim to support you to create the conditions for your organisation to grow and adapt in a fast-changing world. Our aim is to help bring about real and lasting change in how you approach your daily work.

This work can take many different forms. One day, several days, a week-long or month-long programme with time and space between sessions to enable reflection and experimentation. There is no right or wrong answer or format – it’s what works best for you and your organisation.

“Sarah quickly creates a positive space where anything can be explored and where solutions arise from all around. She supported all our staff and governors; bringing us together to recognise and celebrate our strengths and imagine the school we could become. Without exception, everyone was engaged, invigorated and came away excited about the journey ahead; it was the best INSET day we have had. It has given us clarity, a renewed confidence and strong belief in what we want to achieve.”
